Sully's debut for Critical Music is a 12 inch with two tracks, Flux and Chatter, catalogue number CRIT281V. The label describes it as a mix of acid influenced breakbeats with natural sound elements.
The sound design starts from birdsong. Sully used synthesis to analyse natural calls and recreate them as compositional material, and the label says the record explores the meeting point between organic sounds captured through digital processes and electronic production. In Sully's own words, the contrast and contradiction of the organic world captured by digital processes is always a pull for him.
Critical Music is the label behind the Critical Sound night, which is at fabric in London on 23 October.
